Is Pennington the place to be?

We have had a great start to this half term. Our topic is 'Is Pennington the place to be?' and we have been reading the book 'The Jolly Postman'. The children have been very excited about using the post office role play areas in the classroom and have enjoyed writing letters for the different characters in the book.

Thank you to those of you who attended our phonics workshop on Wednesday we hope you found it useful. For those of you who weren't able to come we have sent home the materials given out during the session in book bags. Here is a link to the video which shows how the test will be carried out.

In maths we have been counting to 100 and also in 2s, 5s and 10s. We took our learning outdoors and the children were playing lots of cooperative games while counting.

In science we are looking at trees and plants and have been on a leaf hunt. We then identified which tree the leaf belonged to, drew our own plants and talked about the different parts of a plant.

Thank you once again for your continued support.
