Year 1-The Great Fire of London

The children have settled into Year 1 really well this half term. We have been learning all about The Great Fire of London. The children have really enjoyed this topic and have got a lot out of it.

We were so excited to receive a letter from Samuel Pepys to let us know he was going to come and visit us from the past. We have been busy in English writing questions for Samuel Pepys and facts that we found out from his visit.

We have been looking at fire engines and have started making our own during design and technology.

In maths we were making cakes for the Pudding Lane Bakery and exploring weight.
We have also looked at representing numbers in different ways and how to tell the time to the hour.

We hope you have enjoyed hearing all about The Great Fire of London at home and we are excited to share our knowledge with you during family celebration.
