Little Red Riding Hood

Year 1 have had a fantastic first week back! They have all come back ready to jump straight in to their learning. Over the holidays we have revamped our reading corners to get the children excited about reading. Please find the time to encourage your child to read during the week.

During the holidays we also revamped our outdoor area for the children to enjoy this space together. Fingers crossed it stays nice and tidy :)

This half term we are looking at the traditional tale 'Little Red Riding Hood' and we started the week with a visit from a crime scene investigator to tell them something had happened in their classes. When we went back to our classes we found crime scenes. This got the children excited about their learning.

The children had to think about what had happened and looked at the clues to guess who had been in the classroom.

We have been enjoying looking at 'Little Red Riding Hood' and have been acting out parts of the story.

In maths we have been looking at 1 more than and 1 less than a number using multilink and our 100 squares to help us.
